Mark Alfred is a founding ConComm member of both the original SoonerCon in 1986 and its new incarnation in 2006. He was the first President of the Future Society of Central Oklahoma. He is the reigning Pun King of SoonerCon. Mark is a fountain of (probably useless) facts on Silver Age DC Comics, monster movies, Star Trek: TOS, and the like.
He’s an editor of over a dozen non-fiction books for Jacobs/Brown Press. He also works on Publications for SoonerCon.

Eight Decades of Superman
Superman first appeared in June of 1938, in Action Comics #1, then got the first self-titled superhero comic the following year. How has pop culture's iconic hero changed or stayed the same? And we'll recall that brief, dark time in the 90s when the world went without him (he got better).
